The free build, in writing.
This is the plain-English version of what we agree to before a build starts. You'll get it as a one-page document to sign — same content, no extra fine print.
What's free
One website of up to five pages that earn their place, built from your intake answers — including quote forms, booking links, and service-area maps where they help; anything beyond that is quoted first. One revision round is included. First working draft within five business days of your confirmed slot — we confirm within one business day of intake, and if the month is full, you'll know then.
Revisions vs. bugs
A revision is a change of mind — structure, layout, what the site does. You get 1 revision round on the free build. A bug is something we built not working. Bug fixes are free for 60 days after launch and never count against your revision — a bug we caused is never your bill.
What's not free
Online stores (products, checkout, payments), standalone web apps (booking systems, portals, internal tools), pages beyond five, ongoing edits and new content, photography and logo design, and ongoing growth services — all quoted plainly in writing if you want them, never assumed.
Ownership
You own the site. Your domain is registered in your own account from day one. At launch we transfer the code and hosting into accounts in your name, or host it for you on a care plan — your choice, changeable later.
Hosting
The build is free. Running any website costs hosting: roughly $0–20 a month if you run it yourself, or a care plan from $29/month if we handle it — Care Plan at $150/month adds monthly content edits. Every plan cancels anytime: if you leave, we hand everything over within 5 business days at no charge.
Images and content
You confirm you have the right to use the photos, logos, and testimonials you give us. We only publish testimonials you have written permission to use.
Online payments (optional)
If you ask us to set up online payments — invoice payments, deposits, checkout — they run through your own Stripe account, connected to a payments platform operated by Long Hall Financial, The Free Website Co.'s parent company. Stripe's processing fees pass through unchanged; our platform share is disclosed in writing before the payment page goes live, and shown on the page itself. You can disconnect your Stripe account anytime and keep it.
What an "edit" is
On care plans, an edit is one request email covering up to three small changes to existing pages — hours, prices, photos, wording. New pages and redesign-scale changes are quoted in writing first. Unused edits don't roll over.
Our archive copy
We keep an archived copy of the finished site and may show the work as part of our portfolio. If you'd rather we didn't, say so and we won't.
