What happens to what you tell us.

What we collect

What you type into the intake or contact forms: business name, what you do, service area, phone, email, your hours, the licences or certifications you hold, testimonials you have permission to use, sites you like and dislike, whether you own a domain, whether you have a Google Business Profile, and any other detail you choose to add. If you tick the texting box, we keep that choice too.

There are no advertising pixels on this site and nothing follows you to other websites. We do count page views — see Analytics below. Our web host also keeps ordinary server logs, the sort every website has, recording that a request happened, and we don't use them to build a profile of you.

One thing stays on your own device: as you fill in the intake form, your answers are saved in your browser so a refresh doesn't lose your work. That copy never leaves your computer and we can't see it. It clears when you submit, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Where it goes

The forms are not connected to anything yet, so nothing can be submitted and nothing is being collected through them. When they go live, submissions will be delivered by a form-handling service to our email inbox and this page will name it. If you email or call directly, that conversation stays between us.

What we do with it

Build your draft, reply to you, and keep track of your project. That's the list. We don't sell your information, share it with advertisers, or add you to any mailing list you didn't ask for.

Texting

The intake form has a checkbox asking whether we may text you. It is unchecked by default and you can leave it that way — we'll still build your site, and we'll reply by email instead. If you do tick it, texts are about your build: scheduling, questions, and your draft link. Not marketing blasts. Expect a handful over the course of a project, not a stream.

Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP to get a reply from a person. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile number and your consent to be texted are never shared or sold to anyone, for any purpose.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views — which pages get looked at, roughly where visitors came from, and what kind of device they're on. It sets no cookies, it doesn't fingerprint your browser, and it doesn't follow you to any other site. There is no profile of you anywhere in it, which is also why there's no cookie banner on this site: there are no cookies to ask you about.

Deletion

Want your information gone? Reach us at the address on the contact page and we'll delete your submissions and confirm in writing. No forms, no hoops, no "retention period."

One honest exception, so the two pages agree: if we have already built you a site, our free-build terms reserve an archived copy of that finished work for our portfolio. You can opt out of that when you sign, and you can ask us to take it down later. Deleting your enquiry doesn't automatically delete the archive — say if you want both gone and we'll do both.

This policy is written by The Free Website Co., for humans. If any of it is unclear, that's a bug — tell us however you can reach us (the contact page has whatever channels are open right now) and we'll fix the wording.
